Harris Hints At 2028 Comeback While Blasting Trump

Former Vice President Kamala Harris took the stage at a National Action Network event Friday, delivering a sharp critique of the current administration’s foreign and domestic policies while leaving the door open for a potential 2028 presidential bid.

Speaking with Reverend Al Sharpton, Harris characterized the ongoing conflict in Iran as a “war of choice” entered into by President Trump. She argued the administration has distanced itself from long-standing international alliances, claiming the U.S. has become “more unreliable” and is losing global influence.

“From the beginning, I have been unequivocally opposed to this war of choice that Trump has entered,” Harris said. She expressed concern over the human cost, noting that the conflict has reportedly led to the deaths of 13 U.S. service members and hundreds of injuries.

Harris also took aim at the administration’s handling of the economy, specifically regarding affordability. She accused the president of failing to deliver on campaign promises to lower the cost of groceries and gas.

Harris pointed to rising inflation and unemployment since he took office, contrasting the billions of dollars allocated for the war with cuts to domestic programs like Medicaid and SNAP benefits.

“The government shouldn’t be responsible for affordable child care—that’s what he said,” Harris noted, criticizing the administration’s focus.

On the topic of voting rights, Harris warned about the potential erosion of the Voting Rights Act and criticized proposed legislation like the SAVE Act. She argued that requiring passports or birth certificates for voter registration effectively acts as a “poll tax,” as millions of Americans lack easy access to these documents.

When asked directly by Sharpton if she plans to run for president again in 2028, Harris did not rule it out.

“I might. I’m thinking about it,” she said. She emphasized that she understands the requirements of the job from her time in the West Wing and the Situation Room, adding that “the status quo is not working” for many Americans.

Harris concluded by stating that any leadership bid must be about the needs of the American people rather than personal ambition. “I’ll keep you posted,” she told the audience.
