ST. PETERSBURG – Hawkers Asian Street Fare is the latest downtown St. Petersburg business to close due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the area.
The restaurant posted about the closure on its Facebook page Monday afternoon, stating that it’s temporarily shutting its doors “out of an abundance of caution.
The post read, “For the safety of our guests and team members, we have decided to proactively close our St. Pete location – temporarily – due to the recent spike in positive COVID-19 cases across the City of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County. This temporary closure will allow us to perform additional CDC-approved deep cleaning procedures through every nook & cranny in the restaurant, as a purely preemptive precaution while the St. Pete area experiences this spike in cases.”
The Galley, Parks & Rec and The Avenue Eat + Drink, all located in downtown St. Petersburg, closed Friday afternoon after staff members tested positive for COVID-19. None have reopened yet.
