Hernando County Deputies: Missing Spring Hill Woman With Alzheimer’s Found Safe

Alert Citizen’s Quick Action Leads to Safe Recovery of Missing Senior and Her Dog

SPRING HILL, Fla. – The search for Ester Caballero Munoz, the missing and endangered Spring Hill woman with Alzheimer’s disease, came to a safe conclusion. Munoz and her dog were located safe in the area of Jessica Drive in East Linden Estates in Spring Hill.

A citizen spotted Munoz and her white Shih Tzu and reported their location to law enforcement.


ORIGINAL STORY: The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is urgently seeking the public’s help in locating Ester Caballero Munoz, a missing and endangered woman diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Munoz, who only speaks Spanish, was last seen on video at 6:55 p.m. walking away from her home on Portsmouth Street in Spring Hill. She was accompanied by her dog, a white Shih Tzu.

Deputies are continuing their extensive search efforts and are now asking residents in the vicinity of Portsmouth Street to check their properties for any signs of Munoz.

This includes examining yards, outbuildings, and any other areas where she might have sought shelter or become disoriented.

In addition to physical property checks, the Sheriff’s Office is urging homeowners with outdoor video surveillance systems to review their footage for any potential sightings of Munoz. Even a brief glimpse could provide crucial information to aid in the search.

Anyone with information regarding Ester Caballero Munoz’s whereabouts, or who believes they may have seen her, is asked to immediately contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at (352) 754-6830 or dial 911.
