Hernando County Fire Battles Early Morning Blaze In Spring Hill

SPRING HILL, Fla. – At 5:35 a.m., Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFES) received a 911 call reporting a residential structure fire on Mead Drive in Spring Hill.

Fire units arrived on the scene within eight minutes and found a working fire in a duplex with smoke and flames showing from one side and black smoke showing from all four sides of the residence.

Firefighters were also able to make an aggressive fire attack, extinguishing the fire quickly and preventing further fire spread. There were no reported injuries to civilians or fire personnel.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshall’s Office.

HCFES responded to the scene with 3 engine companies, 1 ladder truck, 2 medic/ambulance units, 2 Battalion Chiefs and 1 Administrative Chief for a total of 18 personnel on scene.
