HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists in Hernando County should prepare for potential delays on US 98 starting early next week, following a new traffic advisory from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7.

According to the latest lane closure summary, road crews are scheduled to begin operations on a specific stretch of the highway starting Monday, January 19. The work will impact traffic from just north of County Road 491 (Citrus Way) to north of Landfill Road.

Drivers traveling through this corridor can expect lane closures and flagging operations daily from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work is slated to continue through Friday, January 23.

Officials urge commuters to remain alert when approaching the work zone and to factor in extra travel time during daylight hours to navigate the flagging operations safely.
