HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. -Drivers on State Road 50 (Cortez Boulevard) in Hernando County should prepare for periodic delays and traffic stops next week as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 schedules lane closures for construction work.
The closures will affect a section of SR 50 between Ridge Manor Boulevard and Riverland Clay Sink Road. The work is part of the ongoing road construction and widening efforts in the area.
Travelers are advised to plan for potential delays, especially during commuting hours, due to the periodic flagging operations required to safely conduct the work.
- Sunday, November 23, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Night periodic flagging and brief traffic stops
- Monday, November 24, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Night periodic flagging and brief traffic stops
- Monday, November 24, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Day periodic flagging and brief traffic stops
- Tuesday, November 25, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Day periodic flagging and brief traffic stops
FDOT reminds the public to use caution when traveling through the work zone and to remain alert for construction workers and equipment. As with all roadwork, the schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
