TAMPA, Fla. – A sophisticated internal theft scheme that funneled tens of thousands of dollars worth of high-end liquor out of a Tampa distribution center has been dismantled, leading to the arrest of three people this week.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests on Wednesday following a weeks-long investigation into an organized operation involving a delivery driver, a warehouse worker, and a third accomplice.
The investigation began on March 12, 2026, after a local alcohol distribution company reported a series of internal thefts. Detectives soon uncovered a pattern that stretched back to mid-February. During overnight shifts at the company’s warehouse, associates would allegedly hide cases of expensive spirits on pallets.
To get the stolen goods past security, the suspects broke the security seals on delivery trucks, loaded the merchandise, and then reapplied the seals to avoid detection during departure.
According to investigators, the delivery driver played a key role by knowingly leaving the warehouse with the compromised seals. Instead of following his designated route, the driver made unauthorized stops—primarily at a Wendy’s restaurant in Seffner.
It was at this fast-food parking lot that the liquor was offloaded into a vehicle driven by a third suspect.

The trail eventually led detectives to a residence on the 14000 block of Alistar Manor Drive in Wimauma. Authorities say the stolen alcohol was stored at this home and later sold. On March 25, 2026, deputies executed a court-authorized search warrant at the property, where they recovered approximately $75,000 in stolen liquor. A 2022 Toyota Corolla used in the commission of the crimes was also seized.
Three individuals are now in custody in connection with the scheme. Darrell Glass, 54, faces charges of Organized Fraud Over $50,000, Grand Theft in the Second Degree, and Dealing in Stolen Property.
Mario Bancroft, 31, has been charged with Organized Fraud Over $50,000 and Grand Theft in the Second Degree. Lateisha Glass, 45, is charged with Grand Theft in the Second Degree and Dealing in Stolen Property.
“This case highlights the calculated efforts of individuals who exploited their positions for personal gain,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the diligence of our detectives and the cooperation of the victim company, those responsible are now facing serious consequences.”
The Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation remains active.
