Hillsborough County Deputy Colton Daniels Released From Hospital Following Shooting

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputy has been released from the hospital one day after being involved in a shooting.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday afternoon that Deputy Colton Daniels left Tampa General Hospital following the Thursday shooting. Officials stated that Daniels is expected to make a full recovery.

“We are incredibly grateful that Deputy Daniels is on his way to a full recovery. This has been a difficult time for him, his family, and our entire Sheriff’s Office, but his strength through this has been remarkable,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “We want to thank TGH for providing incredible care and to the community for all of the support, prayers, and well-wishes during this time.”

Family members have requested privacy as Daniels continues his recovery at home, and the sheriff’s office has asked media organizations to refrain from contacting the family.
