HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue battled a fire at a Tampa storage unit Monday morning at 815 E. Fletcher Avenue.

Officials say a 911 call was received by our dispatch center at 6:18 A.M. from an individual stating that smoke was coming from storage units at this address.

Engine 5 was first on the scene, reporting visible smoke and fire at the far end of a row. Crews quickly pulled a handline, initiating an aggressive attack.

The quick action of firefighters limited the fire to four units and controlled the blaze in under 10 minutes.

Additional units assisted Engine 5 with firefighting operations. There were no injuries to first responders, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
