HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Fire crews in Hillsborough County are currently on the scene of a growing brush fire near Riverview that was first reported early Friday evening.
At approximately 6:26 PM on April 10, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue received several calls from residents reporting heavy smoke near 13232 County Road 672. Upon arrival, emergency responders found an active fire spreading through the local vegetation.
The blaze is currently estimated to cover between 10 and 15 acres. Because of the fire’s size and the evening’s environmental conditions, officials quickly escalated the call to a second alarm.
This move allowed for a surge of additional personnel and specialized equipment to reach the site and assist in the firefight.
