Hillsborough County Firefighters Save Brandon Quadplex From Attic Inferno

BRANDON, Fla. – A Tuesday morning fire in Brandon nearly ended in disaster for several families after a blaze broke out inside a local quadplex. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue teams rushed to the scene at 1003 Perry Court just before noon following a flurry of 911 calls from concerned neighbors.

When the first engines pulled up at 11:58 AM, they found thick, heavy smoke pouring from the back of the single-story building.

The situation looked grim as the smoke billowed from the roofline, but crews didn’t hesitate. Firefighters dragged hose lines deep into the building and quickly tracked the source of the heat to the attic.

The battle was fast and intense. Within 20 minutes, the teams managed to knock down the flames and bring the situation under control. This rapid response was the deciding factor in stopping the fire from jumping through the shared attic space and destroying the three neighboring units.

While the fire was being extinguished, search teams moved through all four homes to ensure everyone was safe. They eventually confirmed that no one was inside at the time of the blaze. Fortunately, the department reports that no civilians or firefighters were injured during the incident.

Operations are still wrapping up at the Perry Court address as crews remain on-site to douse lingering hot spots and ensure the fire doesn’t reignite. Investigators are on the scene working to determine exactly what started the fire.
