VALRICO, Fla. – Firefighters successfully halted a house fire in the River Hills Country Club on Monday morning, preventing the flames from spreading beyond the kitchen.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) units were dispatched to 5304 Waterleaf Court at 10:22 a.m. after the Emergency Communications Center received a flood of 911 calls reporting the incident.
Upon arrival, the first crew faced heavy smoke billowing from the single-story residence. Firefighters immediately advanced a hose line inside, launching an aggressive attack on the flames.

Their swift response brought the fire under control in less than 15 minutes, effectively containing the damage to the kitchen area.
Crews conducted a thorough search of the property and confirmed the house was empty at the time of the fire. Officials reported no injuries to civilians or first responders.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by HCFR’s Fire Investigations Unit.
