Hillsborough County Parks Get Festive With Skate Jams, Trunk Or Treats, And A Dog Parade

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Get ready for a costume craze! Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation has announced a packed calendar of free, family-friendly Halloween activities throughout October.

From thrilling skate jams and festive ‘Trunk or Treat’ gatherings to a special dance for adults with disabilities and a ‘paws-itively’ adorable dog parade, the department is ensuring there is something for everyone to celebrate the spooky season.

Parks & Recreation will host a variety of themed events, inviting residents to don their scariest, cutest, silliest, or best costumes for a chance to win prizes and enjoy community fun.

Key Events Include:

  • Halloween Skate Jams: Skaters can show off their tricks and costumes at multiple locations:
    • Oct. 24: Providence Skate Park (Registration 4:30-5 p.m., Event 5-10 p.m.)
    • Oct. 25: Apollo Beach Skate Park (Registration 6-6:30 p.m., Event 6:30-7:30 p.m.)
    • Oct. 31: Carrollwood Village (Registration 6-6:30 p.m., Event 6:30-8 p.m.)
    • Oct. 31: Jackson Springs Skate Park (Registration 5:30-6 p.m., Event 6-8 p.m.)
  • Trunk or Treat: These popular, safe trick-or-treating alternatives will be held at seven locations across the county:
    • Oct. 17: Northdale Park & Recreation Center (6:30-8:30 p.m.)
    • Oct. 23: Emanuel P. Johnson Recreation Center (6:30-8 p.m.)
    • Oct. 24: Jackson Springs Park & Recreation Center (6-8 p.m.), Keystone Park & Recreation Center (6:30-8:30 p.m.), Ruskin Park & Recreation Center (6:30-8 p.m.), and Mango Park & Recreation Center (6:30-8:30 p.m.)
    • Oct. 29: Bealsville Park & Recreation Center (5:30-7 p.m.)
  • Halloween Night of Sparks: A special inclusive event, the Ball 4 All – Halloween Dance invites adults with disabilities to dress up and enjoy the dance floor.
    • Oct. 24: Brandon Park & Recreation Center (6:30-8 p.m.)
  • Paws in the Park: Furry friends get their time in the spotlight at the Spooktacular Pooches on Parade. Owners are encouraged to bring their costumed dogs for photos, with prizes awarded to the top three dogs.
    • Oct. 25: Apollo Beach Dog Park (10 a.m.-1 p.m.)

All events are free to attend and promise a fun-filled, family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween across Hillsborough County.
