HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – This year, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is honoring Black History Month with a weekly series featuring deputies who share their interpretation of this annual celebration.
Beginning Monday, February 1, 2021, a short video will be posted weekly on HCSO’s social media accounts. In this candid interview series, deputies discuss the influential figures, both personal and historic, who have been a source of inspiration.
Each interview concludes with a message for younger generations.
“At HCSO, Black History Month is not contained to just a month,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “As an agency, we are acutely aware of the contributions our African-American deputies have made throughout our history and the community leaders whose tireless work has made a profound impact on our county. We hope everyone takes the time to recognize those who have made history and are making history at this very moment.”
