Church Parishioner Views Child Pornography While Sitting In Pews During Service

TAMPA, FL. – On September 2, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office filed an Affidavit for Search Warrant in response to a parishioner of The River of Tampa Bay Church who viewed child pornography on his cellphone while sitting in a pew.

Mark Adam Leon, 61, and most recently listed as a Tampa resident, allegedly viewed images of children under the age of ten who were engaged in sexual relations while he was seated in front of church parishioners David Cruz and Jerry Voight.

A deputy arrived at the church and obtained Leon’s consent to review images on his cellphone.

According to the Affidavit for Search Warrant, prior to the deputy’s search, Leon explained the images were of “naturalist/nudist children and not of child pornography.”

However, Leon also informed the deputy there were two child pornography photos on his cellphone where a girl was engaged in sex with an adult male.

The deputy initially witnessed four images of child pornography, which included Leon’s image descriptions, as well as two girls estimated to be under the age of five who were in fully compromised, nude positions.

A more extensive search by the deputy found a broader variety of child pornographic erotica, including images of compromised infants and toddlers.

The investigative law enforcement officer slated to conduct a thorough search of Leon’s cellphone is a member of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and is assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division Special Victims Section/Internet Predator Unit.

Legal Counsel KrisAnne Hall for The River Of Tampa Bay Church told The Free Press, “Church staff permanently trespassed Leon from church property and contacted onsite Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies to report the incident.”

“It’s the church’s swift actions that made this affidavit possible,” said Hall.

The church is located at 3738 River International Drive. As of September 20, no charges have been filed against Leon by Hillsborough County.

  1. Deborah Childress get ready for the lawsuit. You failed to share that River Staff were the one’s who caught the perp and initiated the investigation. Rather you make your article a slanderous assault on the church. You are an example of why people hate your profession. You are the epitome of yellow journalism.

  2. Judging from the correction, Apparently the editors have more journalistic integrity and professionalism than their reporter. Only stellar standards will maintain a stellar reputation.
