TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County residents can access free groceries, health screenings, and vaccinations at a community health fair this Saturday, July 18.
The event, hosted by the county’s Healthy Living Program, will take place at the Lee Davis Community Resource Center, located at 3402 N. 22nd St. in Tampa.
Groceries will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Provided in partnership with Feeding Tampa Bay, the food selection generally includes fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, canned goods, and staples like beans and rice. There are no income restrictions or eligibility requirements to receive the groceries.
While the food distribution ends at 10:30 a.m., the health fair itself will continue until noon. Attendees can receive free health screenings, vaccinations as they are available, and information on the Hillsborough County Health Care Plan. The event also features giveaways and activities designed for children.
The Healthy Living Program is a county initiative that provides physical and educational resources to local residents and health plan members. Through its local centers, the program offers access to fitness equipment, group exercise classes, nutritional counseling, and health screenings. It also hosts free public classes focusing on topics such as diabetes prevention and management, weight loss, healthy cooking, and general wellness.
