HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Hillsborough County Mosquito Management Services will conduct aerial spraying Tuesday night to control adult mosquito populations in Tampa Heights and Seminole Heights.
Helicopter applications of Dibrom insecticide are scheduled between 8:40 p.m. and midnight, weather permitting. Crews will fly at an altitude of 150 feet, applying the treatment at a rate of 0.66 ounces per acre.
The targeted spray zone is bordered by Sligh Avenue to the north, Interstate 4 and Interstate 275 to the south, Interstate 275 to the east, and North Boulevard to the west. County officials noted that some areas surrounding this perimeter will also receive ground treatments.
If weather conditions prevent spraying on Tuesday, the county has set Wednesday, Aug. 19, and Thursday, Aug. 20, as alternate dates.
