HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.—Tampa Bay area drivers should prepare for significant travel delays and detours next week as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has announced an extensive list of lane closures for the period of Sunday, October 26, through Saturday, November 1, 2025.
The closures, concentrated primarily in Hillsborough County, are necessary for ongoing construction and maintenance projects across the region’s major roadways. Commuters, especially those traveling during late-night and overnight hours, are advised to plan alternative routes or adjust their travel times.
Key Highway and Bridge Impacts
Several major arteries will see daily and nightly work, with some closures extending for multiple weeks:
- I-75: The interstate will be affected by multiple closures between the Tampa Bypass Canal and Fowler Avenue. This includes both daytime closures (Sunday, October 26 – Friday, October 31, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and nightly closures (Sunday, October 26 – Friday, October 31 nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) between SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and Fowler Avenue. - Howard Frankland Bridge (I-275): Travel between Hillsborough and Pinellas counties will be impacted nightly. Lane closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, October 26 through Saturday, November 1. Drivers crossing the bridge late at night should anticipate congestion.
- I-4: A critical overnight closure is set for the westbound lanes at Mcintosh Road from 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, to 5:30 a.m. on Friday, October 31.
