Hillsborough County Traffic Alert: McIntosh Road Under I-4 To Shut Down

DOVER, Fla. – Drivers in Dover need to plan for a detour tonight and tomorrow. Northbound McIntosh Road is scheduled to close where it passes under Interstate 4 on Wednesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 14.

The shutdown is scheduled to run from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night, though officials noted the work is weather-dependent. Crews are using the window to pave a portion of the roadway, a key step in the ongoing I-4 interchange improvement project at Exit 14 in Hillsborough County.

If you’re heading that way, keep an eye out for message boards and temporary signs. The official detour route will direct traffic along US 92 (Hillsborough Avenue), Kingsway Road, and Muck Pond Road.

Construction workers will be active in the area throughout the night. Local authorities are asking motorists to stay alert and use extra caution while navigating the work zone to keep everyone on the ground safe.
