HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has released its weekly construction schedule, outlining significant lane and road closures across Hillsborough County. The disruptions, scheduled between Sunday, July 12, and Saturday, July 18, 2026, will heavily impact major highways, commuter bridges, and local routes, primarily during overnight hours.
Interstate travelers face multiple work zones on I-75 and I-275. On I-75, crews will close lanes from SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) to Fowler Avenue nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Sunday, July 12, and ending Friday, July 17.
On I-275, the Howard Frankland Bridge will experience nightly lane closures in both directions between Hillsborough and Pinellas counties from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., running Sunday through Saturday. Just east of the bridge, northbound I-275 lanes will close from Sunday through Thursday nights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. near Exit 39 (SR 60 West/SR 589 North).
The southbound side of Exit 39 will see identical nightly closure hours during the same Sunday-to-Thursday window. Further inland, I-275 lanes from Willow Avenue to Green Street will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
Major US highways will also see restricted traffic flow. The US 41 (Nebraska Avenue) bridge over the Hillsborough River will have daytime closures from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday, July 13 through Saturday, July 18. Meanwhile, the US 41 (22nd Street Causeway) bridge over McKay Bay will close lanes nightly from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
Commuters utilizing the Gandy Bridge (US 92) will encounter eastbound lane closures from Sunday through Saturday, lasting from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Connecting daytime traffic on US 92 (Gandy Boulevard) from the bridge to Dale Mabry Highway will experience closures during those exact same hours, running from Sunday night through Friday morning.
US 301 will undergo three separate construction impacts. Lanes from the Manatee County line to SR 674 (Sun City Center Boulevard) will shut down nightly from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Saturday. At Ayersworth Glen Boulevard, daytime closures are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. At Big Bend Road, work shifts to nighttime, closing lanes from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Several state and county roads face targeted restrictions. SR 39 (James L Redman Parkway) will close lanes from Rayburn Road to Golden Rule Lane for a single overnight block from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 12, to 7:30 a.m. Monday, July 13. On SR 60 (Adamo Drive), lanes close at N 26th Street from Sunday through Thursday nights between 8:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. A separate stretch of SR 60, from Buckingham Place to Lithia Pinecrest Road, will have nightly closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
SR 553 (Park Road) will see daytime closures from US 92 (Baker Street) to north of I-4 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. On SR 574 (W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), daytime closures occur at N 12th Street from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, paired with night closures from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Nearby at Buccaneer Place, SR 574 will close nightly from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
County roads round out the scheduled maintenance. CR 579 (Mango Road) over I-4 will close lanes nightly from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Southbound County Line Road from Swindell Road to South Frontage Road will close Sunday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Drivers should note three long-term, round-the-clock disruptions. Broadway Avenue under US 301 remains completely closed 24 hours a day through Friday, July 25, 2026. Frontage Road from Cypress Street to Cypress Center Drive features a continuous 24-hour lane closure lasting through late 2026. Finally, Frontage Road from Cypress Street to Lemon Street is under a total, 24-hour road closure scheduled to last until January 2027.
