With most arrests, information about the subject is public record and posted in public files. However, in Florida, there is a rule that allows an arrested law enforcement officer to opt-out of having their mugshot released to the public.

In order to keep their mugshot from being released, officers who are arrested must sign a written request for an exemption and it will be granted in most cases, unlike the general public who doesn’t have this option.
