“Hitler” And “Slave Patrols” Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett Unleashes Attacks On Trump, ICE

Democratic Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett has once again found herself at the center of a national firestorm, this time for her highly provocative comparison of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to “slave patrols.”

Her remarks, made on the popular show “The Breakfast Club,” come as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reports a staggering 1,000% increase in assaults on ICE agents during their operations.

“When I look at what they are doing with ICE, it looks like slave patrols,” Crockett said, arguing that a deeper understanding of Black history would make the parallel clear to others.

She described ICE as a “rogue policing force,” claiming its actions, particularly in light of a recent Supreme Court ruling, echo the historical practice of policing to enforce racial and social hierarchies.

The Supreme Court’s decision, which lifted a district court order barring ICE from making stops based on factors like race, location, or speaking Spanish, was a key point in Crockett’s argument. The Trump administration had sought to block the lower court’s order, arguing that it “micromanaged” enforcement.

Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented from the decision, with Sotomayor writing that “We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low-wage job.”

Crockett’s comments have drawn swift and strong condemnation from various quarters. Her statements on “The Breakfast Club” are not her first foray into contentious public debate.

She has previously claimed that illegal entry into the country is not a crime, a statement refuted by Border Czar Tom Homan, who cited Title 8 United States Code 1325. Homan who blasted the Texas democrat and said it’s “pathetic that any member of Congress [doesn’t] understand what the law says.”

In a separate House Judiciary Committee meeting, Crockett also came under fire for her remarks regarding Kayla Hamilton, an autistic woman murdered by an illegal immigrant who entered the country as an unaccompanied minor.

During the markup of the Kayla Hamilton Act, which seeks to address certain placements of unaccompanied alien children (UACs), Crockett dismissed the victim as a “random dead person,” accusing her political opponents of exploiting the tragedy for “political expediency.”

The congresswoman has also been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump. On “The Breakfast Club,” she defended her previous characterization of Trump as a “wannabe Hitler.”

She argued that his rhetoric, such as telling people at rallies to “beat him up,” constitutes a direct promotion of violence, distinguishing it from her own statements. This came in the wake of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, whose killer reportedly left anti-fascist messages on the ammunition recovered at the scene.

Crockett’s own rhetoric, particularly her claim that Republicans are “inherently… violent” and that they “attract violent actors,” has contributed to a highly charged political atmosphere.

As federal immigration enforcement operations continue in cities like Chicago and Boston, and with a reported 1,000% increase in assaults on ICE agents, the debate over immigration, law enforcement, and political discourse in America shows no signs of cooling down.
