The holiday season might deliver a life-changing miracle for one lucky lottery player tonight.
After no ticket matched all six numbers in Monday’s drawing, the Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.25 billion for Wednesday night. If won, the prize would carry a cash value of approximately $572.1 million.
This current run marks a significant moment in lottery history. It is the second-largest prize offered in 2025, trailing only the $1.787 billion jackpot split between winners in Missouri and Texas on Sept. 6. It also represents only the second time Powerball has generated back-to-back billion-dollar jackpots.
“Powerball has only seen back-to-back to billion-dollar jackpots twice, and this one has arrived just in time for the holidays,” said Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair. “While it’s exciting to see the jackpot climb to this level, please remember to play responsibly.”

The swelling prize pool is the result of a record-breaking dry spell. Wednesday will be the 44th drawing in the current jackpot run, setting a new game record for the most drawings in a single cycle.
While the grand prize remained elusive Monday night, players across the country still cashed in. The numbers drawn were white balls 23, 35, 59, 63, 68 and red Powerball 2. Two tickets—one sold in Arizona and one in California—matched all five white balls to win $1 million prizes. Another 43 tickets won $50,000, and 14 tickets secured $200,000 prizes.
If a player beats the 1 in 292.2 million odds on Wednesday, they will have to choose between the annuitized prize of $1.25 billion—paid out over 29 years—or the lump sum cash payment. Both figures are calculated before taxes.
