White House border czar Tom Homan appeared on Jesse Watters Primetime Tuesday to deliver a forceful defense of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), dismissing inflammatory comments from Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and warning anti-ICE protesters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mayor Johnson accused the Trump administration of orchestrating an “intentional attack” and an “attempt to relitigate the civil war” through its policies.
Homan dismissed the Mayor’s characterization, stating flatly, “No, it’s not [our agenda]. We’re enforcing the law.” He called Mayor Johnson’s statements “idiocy,” arguing that ICE is focused on “taking really bad guys off the street.” He further accused critics of “cowardice” for attacking the agency with “false narratives.”
Homan challenged the agency’s current critics by referencing past administrations, asking where they were when ICE removed 409,000 people under President Obama.
“President Trump is saving lives every day,” Homan claimed, adding that they had found over 30,000 of these children in recent weeks.
He framed the enforcement actions as essential for national safety, boasting of the “most secure border in the history of the nation,” and claiming a reduction in “fentanyl killing Americans” and “sex trafficking women and children.”
Warning to Protesters
Responding to live footage of ongoing protests in Charlotte, N.C., where demonstrators were reportedly confronting ICE operations, Homan issued a direct warning.
“You cross the line, you’re going to be prosecuted,” Homan blasted, listing specific criminal acts that will face “zero tolerance,” including slashing tires or impeding an ICE officer.
He questioned what the protesters in Charlotte, Chicago, and New York have “achieved.” According to Homan, their actions only reinforce enforcement: “Every time they do this they achieve more officers are sent to do these operations, more arrests are made.”
“They’re not going to stop us from doing this… we’re going to be there every day,” he said, citing President Trump’s promise for the biggest deportation operation the country has seen. He projected that by the end of the week, the administration would surpass a “historic record” of over 600,000 deportations.
