CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 66-year-old Homosassa man died Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle on South Suncoast Boulevard. The Florida Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred at approximately 8:50 PM on May 6, 2026, within the 3400 block of the roadway.
According to state troopers, a 28-year-old man from Crystal River was traveling southbound in a Chevy Colorado.
At that time, the pedestrian attempted to walk across the roadway and entered the path of the oncoming truck.

The vehicle struck the man, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services.
He later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the collision. FHP has not indicated any pending charges as the investigation remains active.
