MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. – The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is urging local horse owners to remain vigilant following reports of horse thefts in neighboring Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.

While no horse thefts have been reported within Martin County, a recent incident involving trespassing and property surveillance has raised concerns, according to deputies.

The sheriff’s office’s Agricultural Unit is actively working to inform the community and prevent similar occurrences.
