HR Official Behind Bars: Louisiana Man Busted In Florida Undercover Sting

A 62-year-old Louisiana human resources official is in custody following a targeted undercover operation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Eddie Filce, a resident of Raceland and an employee with the Board of Regents for Higher Education, faces a wave of felony charges after investigators linked him to a series of explicit online communications.

The investigation sparked in early April during a statewide FDLE initiative designed to intercept individuals targeting minors online. According to officials, Filce engaged in an undercover chat with an agent who was posing as a juvenile.

During that interaction, authorities say Filce transmitted a variety of explicit messages, photos, and videos.

The resulting charges are extensive. Filce is currently facing two counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition, five counts of transmitting material harmful to minors, five counts of harmful communication with a minor, and one count of using a computer to solicit illegal acts.

The arrest took place on May 5, when the Louisiana State Police, working in coordination with Florida agents, located Filce. He was subsequently booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail. Records show he is being held on an $85,000 bond while he awaits extradition to Florida to face the charges.

Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution has been tapped to handle the case.

While the initial arrest has been made, the FDLE confirmed that the investigation is still active and suggested that more charges could be filed as they continue to sift through the evidence.
