Hudson Man Hit With 25-Year Federal Sentence For Fentanyl And Firearm Charges

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Hudson, Florida, man with a lengthy criminal history, including multiple prior drug convictions, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison this week for possessing and intending to distribute illegal narcotics, along with related firearm offenses.

Darius Lavon Williams, 40, of Hudson, received the sentence after being found guilty of possessing with the intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

The case originated when deputies with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Williams. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a significant haul of illegal substances and paraphernalia, underscoring the severity of the charges.

Items seized by deputies included:

  • Two firearms
  • Approximately two ounces of cocaine
  • Approximately one ounce of fentanyl
  • Over two ounces of cocaine base (crack cocaine)
  • Marijuana
  • THC wax
  • Psilocybin gummies
  • A digital scale

Williams’s extensive criminal background played a role in the prosecution and sentencing. His prior convictions include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felon in possession of a firearm, and a striking eight prior convictions for the sale of cocaine. The latest charges and conviction cap a long history of narcotics and violent offenses.

The case was investigated jointly by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), highlighting a concerted effort to combat drug and gun crime in the region. Assistant United States Attorney David P. Sullivan prosecuted the case, which resulted in the lengthy federal sentence.
