PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County deputies are investigating a grim discovery made in Wesley Chapel. Law enforcement responded to the area of Wiregrass Ranch Boulevard recently after apparent human remains were located.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is currently treating the situation as an active death investigation. While finding remains in a growing area can cause alarm, deputies have been quick to reassure local residents that there is nothing to worry about.
According to a release from the department, investigators do not believe a crime took place. The sheriff’s office stated, “Preliminary information indicates this is an isolated incident and no foul play is suspected.” Officials also confirmed that there is absolutely no ongoing threat to public safety.
Because the investigation is still in its early stages, deputies are keeping the details under wraps for the time being. The department noted that their work remains ongoing and no additional information is available just yet.
