PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – The Pasco County Fairgrounds will transform into a massive hub for pet lovers on Saturday, March 14, 2026, as Pasco County Animal Services (PCAS) hosts a “Mega Adoption Event.” Running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event brings together several local shelters and rescue groups to help find homes for hundreds of dogs and cats in a single day.
The push for adoptions comes at a critical time for local animal welfare. PCAS Director Gary Herrero noted that the facility is currently struggling with a lack of space.
“We continue to be over capacity and events like this make a tremendous difference,” Herrero said. “This is your chance to help save a life by giving a pet a ‘furever’ home while meeting your new best friend.”
Several local organizations are joining the effort at the Dade City fairgrounds, located at 36722 County Road 52.
Partnering groups include Animal Luvrs Dream Rescue, Calypso Cat Rescue, Cat Haven, Dachshunds Seeking Forever Homes, Florida Cocker Spaniel Rescue, the Humane Society of Pasco County, and Runaways Animal Rescue.
To ensure animals can go home with their new owners immediately, all pets at the event have already been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Beyond the adoption area, the event will also feature various local vendors and food trucks for attendees.
