The financial impact of Hurricane Helene continues to grow, with estimated insured losses in Florida now exceeding half a billion dollars.
As of Monday, the state Office of Insurance Regulation reported that insured losses had reached $507.5 million, a significant jump from the previous day’s estimate. Over 48,000 claims have been filed, with the majority related to residential property damage.

While only a small percentage of claims have been processed so far, the mounting losses highlight the widespread destruction caused by the Category 4 storm.
Hurricane Helene made landfall in Taylor County late last week, leaving a trail of damage across the Gulf Coast and North Florida before moving into Georgia.
