I-4 Polk County Combo-Trailer Crash Closed Westbound Lanes Earlier Friday

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – An earlier crash on I-4 in Polk County has westbound lanes closed earlier today.

According to Florida Highway Patrol a picup truck towing a trailer and a secondary trailer behind the first, was traveling westbound on I-4 near milepost 28. The trailer combination began to fishtail resulting in a loss of control for driver, a 52-year-old man from Dover.

The pickup truck entered the outside shoulder, overturned, and came to final rest in the inside lane, center lane, and outside shoulder, closing the westbound lanes of I-4 for an extended period. The driver and his passenger, a 41-year-old woman from Dover, sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.

All lanes have reopened.
