HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Drivers heading through Hillsborough County tomorrow night should prepare for a detour as crews shut down a key exit for ongoing interchange upgrades. Starting at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, the eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Mango Road (Exit 10) will be completely closed to all traffic.
The closure is expected to last until 5 a.m. on Friday, May 1, though officials noted the schedule depends on clear weather conditions. For those stuck behind the wheel during these hours, the suggested detour adds a few extra miles to the trip.
Motorists will need to stay on eastbound I-4 until Exit 14, where they can hang a right onto McIntosh Road. From there, another right onto Hillsborough Avenue (US 92) will lead drivers back west toward Mango Road.

Construction crews will be active throughout the night as part of a larger project to improve the I-4 and Mango Road interchange. Local authorities are urging everyone to slow down and stay sharp when approaching the work zone.
Since workers will be close to the lanes, keeping a watchful eye and exercising extra caution is the best way to ensure everyone makes it home safely before the morning rush.
