Following a private, four-hour meeting with Turning Point USA leadership, conservative commentator Candace Owens revealed on Tuesday that the sit-down did nothing to quell her skepticism regarding the attempted assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Owens met on Monday with TPUSA CEO Erika Kirk and Chief Operating Officer Justin Streiff for what both sides publicly termed a “productive” discussion. However, during a livestream recap the following day, Owens made it clear she was not shown any new evidence linking the accused shooter, Tyler Robinson, to the crime.
“I don’t believe that Tyler Robinson pulled the trigger,” Owens told her audience, distancing herself from what she called her “well-paid peers” who have accepted the official narrative.

“I Am Not Governable”
Owens opened her remarks by aggressively pushing back against online speculation that she had been pressured into the meeting or “managed” by external forces.
“I keep telling you guys, I am not governable. I am basically akin to Kanye West,” Owens said, referencing a tweet from the rapper about being unmanageable. “That is me.”
The meeting, described as a “no-rules” session, began with a confrontation regarding Owens’ recent social media behavior. Streiff and Erika Kirk expressed their grievances over Owens previously labeling the organization a “god-forsaken company.” Owens admitted her comments reached a “fever pitch” but noted that Erika Kirk reciprocated by owning up to internal “lies” or “miscommunications” from the company’s side.

The Search for Evidence
The primary objective of the meeting, according to Owens, was fact-finding. She told the executives she wanted to leave the room confident enough to tell her followers that “Tyler Robinson shot Charlie Kirk.”
To address this, the group phoned a lawyer involved in the case during the meeting. Owens claims the attorney admitted that TPUSA currently holds no evidence beyond what has already been released to the public. The organization—and the public—will reportedly not learn more until a probable-cause hearing scheduled for May.
“What I got from the lawyer did not make me feel that Tyler Robinson shot Charlie Kirk,” Owens said. She emphasized that until concrete evidence is presented before a judge, she remains unconvinced by the affidavit alone.
Behind the Scenes
The logistics of the high-stakes meeting had been in the works for weeks. SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly revealed earlier on Tuesday that she had been tapped by the Kirk family to facilitate the discussion.
Kelly stated she had remained silent on the public feud to avoid jeopardizing the private negotiations. While Kelly noted she does not share Owens’ theories regarding TPUSA’s involvement in the attack, she worked to bring the two parties together, though they eventually handled the final specifics themselves.
