‘I Personally Don’t Care’: Speedway Clerk Tosses ICE Agents In Minnesota Stand-Off

A routine pit stop turned into a political confrontation Wednesday when a Speedway convenience store clerk refused to serve Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino and a team of ICE officers, telling them bluntly that the staff “don’t support ICE.”

The incident, captured on video and spreading rapidly across social media, offers a raw look at the tension gripping Minneapolis.

The footage comes from independent journalist Cam Higby, who walked into the aftermath of the refusal. He didn’t mince words when questioning the employee behind the counter, asking point-blank if the agents had been kicked out.

The clerk didn’t back down.

“Yeah, I did. Because I wanted to,” the worker said. “We don’t support ICE. Nobody here does. Neither do I.”

The exchange grew sharper when Higby turned to Commander Bovino, trying to ask about the legality of a business turning away federal law enforcement. The clerk cut the question off before the commander could answer.

“If it is [illegal], I personally don’t care,” the worker interjected.

A City on Edge

This isn’t an isolated dust-up. It’s a symptom of a city—and a country—currently sitting on a powder keg.

Since the Jan. 7 shooting of Renee Good, protests have erupted nationwide. Good was killed after an ICE officer fired on her vehicle, stating she was accelerating toward him. That explanation hasn’t quelled the anger on the streets.

The atmosphere in Minneapolis has become so volatile that confusion is leading to dangerous close calls. Just last Friday, a video surfaced on X showing activists surrounding a man’s truck, convinced he was an agent simply because of the vehicle he drove. He wasn’t.

With the temperature rising, the Pentagon isn’t taking chances. Reports indicate that about 1,500 active-duty troops have been ordered to stand by, ready to deploy to Minneapolis if local authorities lose control.
