A 51-year-old Florida was arrested this week after threatening to kill his neighbor’s dog, and his neighbor, for using a leaf blower. You can’t make this up.
According to police, 51-year-old Curtis Manfred Franz fired seven warning shots to tell his neighbor to stop blowing leaves around 7:45 am Tuesday morning.
Police say the victim, was on his roof, using a leaf blower to remove leaves from his Largo, Florida home. That’s when the victim heard 5 to 6 gunshots north of his property. Then 2 more.
The victim told police that he then saw Franz, 51, standing in his yard with a black pistol and in a bathrobe.
According to the affidavit, Franz yelled to the victim to stop using the leaf blower, then pointed his gun at the victim’s dog and said, “I’m going to shoot you fu*king dog. If you keep using your blower I will shoot you too.”
Police on the scene found 7 spent shell casings and said upon contact with Franz, he appeared to be intoxicated and took Franz into custody.
Franz was arrested for Felony Aggravated Assault, and Discharging a Firearm in public and released from Pinellas County Jail; after posting a $5,150 bond.

I don’t blame him, why does anybody have a right to make that much racket at 7:45 AM in the morning? Or allow somebody’s dog to continually bark at that time of the morning? There are people who are ill or had a bad night in which they couldn’t sleep. Nobody has a right to invade your home with noise at any time of the day! And I am not making this up and you know what I’m talking about. And it’s sad they drove this man to the point he had to shoot his gun seven times to get their attention! Because I will bet that he warned these people not to blow their leaf blower at that time in the morning or let their damn dog bark all day. What a bet!?
And I can tell just by looking at his face he doesn’t sleep well.
