U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) arrested Stivenson Omar Perez-Ajtzalan, a 19-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala, on January 30, 2025. Perez-Ajtzalan faces felony charges of aggravated rape of a child with a ten-year age difference.

Perez-Ajtzalan was arraigned at the Lawrence District Court on December 20, 2024, and the case remains pending. Following his arrest, ICE issued him a notice to appear before a Justice Department immigration judge and placed him into removal proceedings.

He is currently in ICE custody, awaiting further legal action.

“Stivenson Omar Perez-Ajtzalan entered this country illegally and victimized a Massachusetts child ten years his junior,” said Patricia H. Hyde, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in Boston. “Not only did Perez display a blatant disregard for our immigration laws, he sexually assaulted a child. He came to this country to do harm, and now he must be made to face the consequences of his actions. ICE Boston will remain dedicated to our mission of protecting public safety by arresting and removing illegal alien offenders from New England.”

The arrest is part of ICE’s ongoing efforts to enforce immigration laws and protect communities from individuals who pose a threat to public safety. ICE’s ERO Boston field office has been actively involved in identifying, arresting, and removing individuals who violate U.S. immigration laws and commit serious crimes.

ICE has emphasized its commitment to working with local law enforcement agencies to ensure that individuals who commit crimes, regardless of their immigration status, are held accountable.

ICE encourages members of the public to report crimes or suspicious activity involving illegal immigrants by calling the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or submitting an online tip form. Community involvement is critical to identifying and apprehending individuals who threaten public safety.
