U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) removed Raymundo Rojas Bacilio, a Mexican citizen, on January 25th. Rojas was wanted in Mexico for rape and had a final order of removal from the United States.

“The removal of the criminal alien Raymundo Rojas Bacilio, a sexual predator, underscores the critical importance of our enforcement actions. His repeated illegal entries into the United States and his heinous criminal acts posed a significant threat to the safety and security of our communities,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane. “This removal demonstrates that we will relentlessly pursue and remove those who endanger the American public.”

Rojas has a history of illegal entry into the U.S. The U.S. Border Patrol arrested him near Nogales, Arizona, in January 2012, for entering the country illegally. He was issued an expedited removal order and removed to Mexico. Just days later, Rojas again illegally entered the U.S. near Nogales and was again apprehended and removed.

In 2013, Mexican authorities issued an arrest warrant for Rojas for rape. He later illegally entered the U.S. again at an unknown time and location.

In November 2024, the Kings County Supreme Court in Brooklyn, New York, convicted Rojas of forcible touching and sentenced him to 60 days’ incarceration, six years of probation, and required him to register as a sex offender.
