A 32-year-old Texas man is sitting behind bars after police say he held his girlfriend against her will for days and chased her through a local truck stop with a gun.
Adrian Anthony Longoria was arrested on Sunday. The rescue happened after San Antonio Police Department officers were called to a disturbance at a Flying J Travel Center. When they arrived, witnesses told them a man had been running after a woman with a firearm, demanding she get into his car and threatening to kill her if she refused.
Officers eventually located the woman. According to an SAPD report obtained by local station KSAT, she had a black eye and noticeable bruising across her body. Longoria reportedly denied attacking her, telling police the injuries were just the result of a “previous fight.”
The victim explained to investigators that she and Longoria had been in an intimate relationship for a few months. She said she had just finished a stint in rehab in late May and decided to move into his house in Cibolo, Texas. Just two days later, she decided she wanted out.
But when she tried to walk out the front door, Longoria allegedly blocked her path. Pointing a gun directly at her, he told her, “If you try to leave or escape, I’ll kill you and your family.”
For the next several days, the woman said she was held captive inside the home. During that time, she told police Longoria repeatedly assaulted her and took away her cellphone so she couldn’t call for help. She finally managed to get a hold of her family by sneaking access to Longoria’s own phone.
Longoria is currently locked up at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center facing a kidnapping charge. His bond has been set at $50,000, and it is currently unclear when he is scheduled to appear in court next.
