HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A Hernando County man found himself in handcuffs Sunday after unwittingly calling police on the very witness who caught him breaking the law.

Deputies say Miguel Gonzalez-Nunez, 29, was spotted dumping a massive pile of construction debris near Fort Dade Avenue and Citrus Way. A Good Samaritan recorded the incident and began following Gonzalez-Nunez while dialing 911.

Moments later, dispatchers received a second call—this time from Gonzalez-Nunez himself—claiming he was being chased by a “reckless driver,” though he failed to mention why.

When deputies intercepted both vehicles at Mariner and Cortez Boulevards, the witness turned over video evidence linking Gonzalez-Nunez to the crime scene.

Investigators confirmed the debris found on the roadside matched materials inside his truck. Gonzalez-Nunez, who operates a construction business called “King Off Kings,” denied dumping the trash despite the video footage placing his vehicle directly in front of the pile.

He was arrested and charged with littering over 500 pounds, with bond set at $2,500. Deputies also noted that Gonzalez-Nunez is currently under a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
