Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has announced the arrest of Antonio De Jesus Moreno Escobar, an illegal alien accused of stealing the identity of a young Texas minor, a crime that resulted in the child losing access to critical Medicaid healthcare benefits.

Moreno Escobar is currently being held on an ICE detainer following his arrest.

“This case is a disturbing example of how illegal aliens drain our resources, hurt innocent Texans, and even deprive children of vital healthcare,” stated Attorney General Paxton. “My office will ensure that illegal aliens who exploit our systems and target our families face the full force of the law.”

The illegal scheme, which spanned three years, saw Moreno Escobar purchase falsified documents, including a stolen Social Security number, a Texas ID card, and a fraudulent green card, for just $120.

He then used the identity of a boy, who was 13 years old at the time, from Hutto, Texas, to secure employment at seven different businesses across the greater Houston area.

The fraud was only discovered when the victim’s mother received a devastating notification: her son’s Medicaid coverage was being terminated due to income that had been fraudulently reported under his name.
