Illegal Immigrant In Florida Jailed After Cyber Tip Uncovers Brutal Child Abuse Media

An 18-year-old Guatemalan national living in Stuart is now behind bars following a digital investigation into the possession of extreme illicit materials. Pablo Ruiz Argueta was apprehended at the Sunshine Mobile Home Park after a cyber tip led the Martin County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit directly to his residence.

The case originated with the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Detectives reported that Argueta had downloaded two specific videos to his phone that depicted the brutal sexual assault of a child under the age of seven.

Investigators described the footage as some of the most disturbing content they have seen, noting that the second file was even more severe than the first.

Argueta, who is an illegal immigrant, was not initially targeted for his residency status but for the specific nature of the flagged digital content. However, authorities confirmed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) already has a final deportation order in place for him.

He is currently being held at the Martin County Jail on charges of possession of child pornography. He is being held without bond as he awaits the legal process.

While his deportation order remains active, he is expected to face the Florida criminal justice system for his current charges before any federal removal occurs.
