Camerino Perez Perez, also known as “Squirrel,” a 41-year-old resident of Levy County, Florida, has been indicted by a federal grand jury this week on one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by an illegal alien.
The charge was announced today by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Perez is scheduled for his arraignment in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Midori Lowry on July 1, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in Gainesville. If convicted, Perez faces a maximum penalty of fifteen years in federal prison.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Assistant United States Attorney Adam Hapner is prosecuting the case.
