HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 62-year-old man from Wood River, Illinois, was killed in a crash that happened around 7:50 p.m. on Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say a GMC Sport Utility Vehicle was traveling southbound on US-301, north of SR-674 when the Illinois man attempted to cross the highway.
The man entered the path of the SUV and was struck by the vehicle.

Troopers say the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the SUV, a 30-year-old Ruskin woman, sustained no injuries in the crash.
