The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed Tuesday that the scope of immigration enforcement actions across the United States is widening, extending beyond initial areas to states including North Carolina and Minnesota, with a potential shift in focus to Louisiana.

Operations have seen a significant number of arrests. In Charlotte, North Carolina, over 200 people were detained in raids conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the past three days, according to a DHS statement released Tuesday.

While Charlotte has been a focal point, reports indicate that enforcement actions are spreading to other areas within North Carolina. Furthermore, the expansion of these activities is expected to reach New Orleans, Louisiana, in the coming weeks.

Sources familiar with the planning have indicated that Gregory Bovino, a top Border Patrol official, is scheduled to arrive in New Orleans in early December. This visit aligns with previous remarks by President Trump, who has reportedly floated New Orleans as a target for a federal enforcement crackdown.

The overall expansion of immigration enforcement reflects a continued emphasis on implementing the administration’s policies nationwide, impacting various communities from the Midwest to the South.
