POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Indiana man on Saturday, August 8, 2026, after responding to a call regarding a suspicious person at a residence on Princeton Avenue in Frostproof, Florida.
The individual was identified as Scott Byrd. According to law enforcement, Byrd had an active warrant for his arrest issued out of St. Joseph County, Indiana, for failure to return to a lawful detention facility.
Following his arrest by Polk County deputies, Byrd was transported to the Polk County Jail.
He is being held pending extradition back to South Bend, Indiana.
