Federal and local authorities are searching for a 27-year-old man in connection with the discovery of human remains buried in the backyard of a Litchfield Park home.
Matthew Christopher Flores Semyonov is suspected in the deaths of his parents. The U.S. Marshals Service District of Arizona took the lead on the fugitive investigation after the Avondale Police Department formally requested assistance from the WANTED Violent Offender Task Force on Aug. 7, 2026.
Investigators believe Flores Semyonov has fled the country. Following a request from local police, the U.S. Marshals obtained a federal arrest warrant from the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, charging him with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
“The U.S. Marshals Service will use every available resource, including our domestic and international law enforcement partnerships, to locate Flores Semyonov and return him to Arizona to face justice,” said United States Marshal Van Bayless. “Crossing international borders will not prevent us from pursuing those accused of committing violent crimes. We will remain steadfast in this search and in our commitment to securing justice for the victims and their family.”
The case began when relatives requested a welfare check on Flores Semyonov and his parents. Avondale police officers searched the family’s residence but did not locate any of the three individuals. During the walkthrough, officers discovered a significant amount of blood and evidence indicating someone had tried to clean up the scene.
A subsequent search of the surrounding property led investigators to buried human remains in the backyard. Positive identification of those remains is still pending.
The Avondale Police Department remains the lead agency handling the criminal investigation into the disappearance and suspected deaths of the parents, while federal authorities coordinate the international effort to track down Flores Semyonov.
Authorities caution that Flores Semyonov should be considered dangerous. Members of the public are advised not to approach or attempt to apprehend him.
