POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Bartow man is in custody after a violent outburst on Sunday, October 19th, which deputies believe was fueled by jealousy.
Domingo Bruno, Jr., 40, of Bartow, was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) following an incident at a residence in Fort Meade. Deputies responded to a battery complaint at approximately 3:45 p.m.
According to the PCSO investigation, Bruno allegedly unlawfully entered the residence and proceeded to physically assault both the male resident and a female guest. Authorities say Bruno and the female victim are known to each other, and the investigation points to jealousy as a motive for the attack.
Both victims sustained minor injuries during the assault.
Bruno was transported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Processing Center and faces charges, including Burglary with Battery (a first-degree felony) and Battery with one Prior Conviction (a third-degree felony).
This is not Bruno’s first brush with the law. Deputies say his arrest record includes a prior battery charge, along with previous arrests for DUI, Burglary, Trespassing, Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR), and Drug Possession.
