TAMPA, Fla. – A collaborative investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has resulted in the arrest of two individuals believed to be responsible for a series of armed robberies across Hillsborough County.

Andres Correa Jr., 39, and his girlfriend, Cassandra Kerr, 46, were taken into custody after a multi-agency operation that targeted their alleged criminal activities. The pair is suspected of carrying out multiple armed business robberies during July and August of 2025.

According to HCSO, Correa Jr. allegedly brandished a firearm during each robbery, threatening employees and customers before stealing an undisclosed amount of money. Detectives determined that Kerr was directly involved in the crimes, acting as the getaway driver who transported Correa Jr. to and from the robbery locations.

The investigation culminated on August 26, 2025, when HCSO and ATF assisted the FBI in serving several federal search warrants on residences and vehicles connected to the suspects. The searches yielded numerous pieces of evidence linking the pair to the robberies, including a firearm.

Correa Jr. and Kerr have been federally charged with three counts of 18 USC § 1951 Hobbs Act Robbery.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister commended the joint effort, stating, “These arrests demonstrate the tireless efforts of our detectives and highlight the critical partnerships we share with the FBI and ATF that make these results possible.”

Chronister issued a stern warning to other potential criminals, adding, “Anyone who believes they can terrorize businesses, threaten innocent people, and escape accountability is mistaken. We will find you, we will arrest you, and you will face justice.”
