In an escalation of the U.S. military’s counter-narcotics operations, Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out lethal kinetic strikes on Monday against three vessels in international waters, leaving eight suspected narco-terrorists dead.

The operation, authorized directly by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, targeted vessels navigating known drug trafficking corridors in the Eastern Pacific. Intelligence officials confirmed the boats were operated by groups classified as Designated Terrorist Organizations and were actively engaged in trafficking operations at the time of the strikes.

According to preliminary reports, the coordinated attack eliminated threats across three separate vessels.

Three individuals were killed on the first boat, two on the second, and three on the third. All eight casualties were identified as male combatants affiliated with the trafficking networks.

The strikes mark a significant shift in engagement rules under Secretary Hegseth’s leadership, signaling a more aggressive stance against the convergence of international terrorism and drug cartels.

While U.S. forces have long patrolled the Eastern Pacific to intercept narcotics, the use of lethal kinetic force against transit vessels represents a rare and intensified level of direct action.

Military officials have not yet released specific details regarding the type of munitions used or the exact location of the strikes, citing operational security.
